10* TOTAL OF THE WEEK (+$39K LARGE IN 2021!)
(MLB) Detroit vs. Baltimore,
Total: 10.50 | -105.00 Under
Result: Loss
Total: 10.50 | -105.00 Under
Result: Loss
This is a 10* TOTAL OF THE WEEK on the UNDER Tigers/Orioles.
I think the opener of this one sets up as a lower-scoring contest. The Tigers go with Casey Mize, who is 6-6 with a 3.57 ERA. He most recently allowed four runs over five innings in a loss to the Red Sox.
Mize faced Baltimore two weeks ago and held it scoreless over seven innings. He is 3-3 with a 3.59 ERA on the road.
The home side goes with Keegan Akin, who is 0-5 with a 7.66 ERA. Akin is back in the starting rotation out of necessity. Clearly, there's not many positives you can take out of Akin's performance to this point.
But I will point out that Baltimore has seen the total go UNDER the number in six of its last eight when playing with two or more days rest, and in eight of its last 11 after allowing ten or more runs in a home loss in its previous outing (lost here 12-3 to Tampa on August 7th.)
Akin has an opportunity once again to get back on track against a shaky Detroit line-up.
And I really like Mize to continue his consistent play against Baltimore's poor hitting line-up as well.
This number is just a little TOO high. The play is the UNDER.
Good luck, NP
