This is a 10* TOP NATIONAL LEAGUE TOTAL on the UNDER D-Backs/Padres.
San Diego and Arizona played to an OVER yestreday in the Diamondbacks 8-5 series opening victory.
Previous to that the D-Backs had seen the total go UNDER in three straight.
The Padres have now lost two in a row. They've seen the total go OVER in six straight.
Yesterday's total flew OVER, but I believe we'll have much more of a DUEL on our hands on Saturday night.
The visitors go with Taylor Widener, who is 1-1 with a 5.05 ERA. He is off a no-decision to the Giants on Monday, allowing five runs over five innings. Widener remains in the rotation, as the Diamondbacks have the worst record in baseball. He's definitely been better on the road though (3.33 ERA), than at home (8.36).
The Padres go with Yu Darvish, who is 7-6 with a 3.48 ERA. He's off an uncharacteristically poor outing against the Rockies, allowing five runs over six innings. He did have eight K's.
WHile he's 2-3 with a 4.07 ERA on the road, Darvish is 5-3 with a 3.16 ERA at home.
I like Darvish to bounce back at home here. I'm not laying this price, but in my estimation this total is just too high.
That's the play here, the UNDER.
Good luck, NP
