This is an 8* TOP NL TOTAL on the UNDER Nats/Braves.
Both teams have been playing to several higher-scoring games of late, which swings the value to the UNDER in the opener of this series in my opinion.
Washington has seen the total go OVER in six straight (while also losing four in a row and five of its last six), while Atlanta has seen the total fly OVER in two straight (while winning three in a row and four of its last five.)
The Braves are above .500 for the first time all season and I think they continue their progression here at home. But I'm not going to lay the price, instead everything points to a "DUEL."
The visiting side goes with Erick Fedde, who is 4-7 with a 5.01 ERA this season. Fedde has struggled over the last month, but he's off a decent outing against the Cubs on Sunday, allowing three runs and striking out eight over five innings in what turned out to be a no-decision.
The home side goes with Kyle Muller, who is 2-3 with a 2.43 ERA and who is coming off a gem on Saturday against the Brewers, allowing one run and striking out seven over five innings. Over his last three outings he's conceded just three runs.
