TOP AL TOTAL (OFF ANOTHER SWEEP!) 114-87 MLB YTD!
(MLB) Boston vs. Detroit,
Total: 9.00 | -109.00 Over
Result: Loss
Total: 9.00 | -109.00 Over
Result: Loss
This is an 8* TOP AL TOTAL on the OVER Red Sox/Tigers.
The Tigers are off a 4-2 win over the Red Sox and they've now won two in a row. Detroit though has seen the total go UNDER the number in five straight coming into this one.
Boston comes in desperate to break a six-game slide. It's seen the total go UNDER in two straight.
From an overall situational stand point, this one definitely sets up as more of a SLUG-FEST, than a DUEL.
Eduardo Rodriguez is 7-6 with a 5.60 ERA for the Red Sox. He most recently was shelled for six runs off seven hits and four walks over 3.1 innings in a loss to Toronto. In his start previous to that, he only threw one inning before departing because of migraine issues. Suffice it to say, I do not trust Rodriguez at all right now.
The Tigers go with Casey Mize, who is 6-5 with a 3.41 ERA. Mize gave up one run over seven innings in a win over the Orioles on Thursday. Note though that the strikeout numbers are poor, as he owns just 87 over 111 innings of work.
It's been a fantastic overall season for Boston, but it's hit its lowest point so far as it looks to avoid a six-game slide.
Detroit is playing much better of late, especially with its production at the plate.
I say that Rodriguez continues his struggles and Mize finally falls flat.
This number is low, the play is the OVER.
Good luck, NP
