The first three games of this four game series have all gone UNDER the number, but I finally expect some offensive fireworks in the finale.
Oakland goes with Daulton Jefferies (0-0, 0.00 ERA), who has been called up to make his MLB debut. Jefferies has a terrible 5.19 ERA and 1.29 WHIP over 59 Triple A innings of work this season.
LA goes with Reid Detmers (0-0, 0.00) who is also making his MLB debut today. In his most Triple A Salt Lake start, he went six scoreless and struck out nine. Over 19 frames in Triple A he has a sharp 30:4 K:BB, but clearly he's going to have his hands full with this dangerous A's lineup.
I don't trust either rookie to go very deep.
The A's have also seen the total go OVER the number in eight of their last 11 in trying to revenge a road loss against an opponent in which they were shutout in.
