The White Sox have been trading Overs and Unders over their last four games and I expect that trend to continue here after their big 12-1 victory here last night.
The Orioles have now seen the total go OVER in four straight, allowing 22 runs over their last two losses, while posting just three themselves.
Finally though I think this Saturday afternoon game sets up as more of a defensive "duel."
The visitors go with Lucas Giolito, who is 6-6 with a 4.20 ERA and who will be out to atone for a poor effort against Detroit last time out, allowing six runs off ten hits over five innings.
Starts like that have been few and far between for Giolito though, who enters with a massive 116:31 K:BB over his last 98.2 innings of work.
Tom Eshelman is 0-1 with a 7.16 ERA. He gave up four runs over four innings in a no-decision to the Angels in his last outing.
Eshelman has only made four starts, and he hasn't looked particularly good in any of them, although he did make strides in his last outing. I think this progression continues here.
I'll also point out that the Orioles have seen the total go UNDER the number in eight of their last 11 after allowing ten or more runs in a home loss in their previous outing.
