This is an 8* CUSTOMER APPRECIATION PLAY on the Brewers on the RUN-LINE.
Milwaukee had won ten in a row, but it's now lost its last two.
It lost 2-0 at Pittsburgh, before then falling 4-2 in the opener of this series yesterday.
The Mets have won three of their last four.
Jacob deGrom is 7-2 with a 0.95 ERA. He gave up three runs over seven innings and struck out 14 in a no-decision to the Braves on Thursday.
It's impossible to say anything negative about deGrom, but small further regression is imminent as we head towards the break in my opinion.
The visitors go with Brett Anderson, who is 2-5 with a 4.69 ERA. Anderson has been on the shelf since mid June with a knee bruise. He's thrown simulations and has been cleared for this one and will be under a full workload. He has a 31:15 K:BB over 12 starts this season.
I think Anderson can match deGrom. I don't trust the Mets bullpen either. The outright money line is tempting here, but in this case, let's grab the 1.5 runs on the "pick em" price and expect this one to be tight from start to finish.
The play is the BREWERS on the run-line.
Good luck, NP
