This is a 10* AFTERNOON TOP SIDE on the Indians.
Cleveland had won four in a row before dropping yesterday's contest by a score 11-10 to Pittsburgh last night.
The Pirates though had lost ten in a row heading into that one, and they almost messed it up and lost last night as well, allowing the Indians to rally late and score ten runs over the sixth, seventh and eigth innings.
But an immediate return to mediocrity is imminent here for the Pirates in my opinion.
Cal Quantrill is 0-2 with a 3.11 ERA for the Indians. Quantrill has been pressed into a starters role with injuries to the rotation, but he's been decent so far. He most recently struck out four and allowed one run over four innings vs. the Orioles.
His counterpart today is Wil Crowe, who is 0-4 with a 6.75 ERA and who has a 1.61 WHIP over nine outings. The rookie has struggled considerably, but especially at home where he's 0-3 with a 7.30 ERA.
Finally, note that Cleveland is 7-2 in its last nine in trying to avenge a road loss against an opponent in which it allowed ten or more runs in.
Good price on the INDIANS today in this bounce-back scenario.
Good luck, NP
