Total: 7.50 | -103.00 Under
Result: Loss
This is an 8* TOP THURSDAY TOTAL on the UNDER D-Backs/Giants.
San Francisco has taken the first three games of this four-game series.
The Giants have seen the total go OVER in two straight, but the finale here sets up as more of a duel I think.
Zac Gallen gets the nod for the visitors and he's 1-1 with a 3.04 ERA. He threw a bullpen session on Tuesday and he's been cleared to go off a stint on the IL.
Note that while he was 0-1 with a 5.62 ERA on the road, he was 1-0 with a 1.98 ERA on the road (also 1-0 with a 0.82 ERA in all "day" games.)
Kevin Gausman (7-1, 1.43) has been great for the Giants overall this season, but he'll be eager to bounce-back after his first loss of the year, falling to the Nationals on Saturday after allowing two runs over four innings.
Guasman is putting up big numbers with a 97:18 K:BB over 81.2 innings of work, and he's also been great in all "day" games by going 4-1 with a 1.25 ERA thus far.
Finally, note that Arizona has seen the total go UNDER the number in eight of its last 11 in trying to revenge a road loss against an opponent in which it allowed 12 or more runs in.
This number is high, the play is the UNDER.
Good luck, NP
