This is a 9* TOP INTERLEAGUE SIDE play on the Phillies.

Both teams need victories, so the "motivation" factor can be thrown out the window. Each team has a pretty mediocre bullpen.

Neither of these starting pitchers instills a ton of confidence either, but I definitely trust Vince Velasquez at home, over the volatile Jameson Taillon on the road.

Velasquez is 2-1 with a 4.33 ERA. He also has a respectable 52:26 K:BB over 43.2 innings of work.

Taillon is 1-4 with a 5.09 ERA. He owns a 1.26 WHIP and a 58:16 K:BB over 53 innings (note that he's 0-3 with a 9.44 ERA on the road as well so far.)

Philadelphia can't afford to look past anyone. I say Velasquez is the correct call here. The play is the Phillies.
