This is a 10* TOP FRIDAY NATIONAL LEAGUE SIDE PLAY on the Reds.
The Reds have been trading wins and losses over their last six games. Last night they lost the opener of this series by a score of 13-8. I think this win/loss pattern continues here for Cincinnati now in this revenge/bounce-back situation on Friday night.
The visitors go with Wade Miley, who is 4-2 with a 2.00 ERA. He comes in of a no-hitter vs. Cleveland on Friday, walking one and striking out eight over nine shutout innings. To go along with his sparkling ERA, he also owns a tiny 0.75 WHIP and 27:8 K:BB over 36 innings of work.
German Marquez is 1-4 with a 5.49 ERA. He comes in off a decent start vs. the Cardinals on Sunday, allowing two runs with three walks over six innings in what turned out to be an unfortunate loss. Previous to that, he failed to escape the first inning.
Marquez has so far been more "miss" than "hit" this year, while Miley enters likely in the best form of his career.
I like Miley here. Also note that the Reds are 7-2 in their last nine in trying to revenge a loss vs. an opponent in which they allowed 12 or more runs in.
Great value on the revenge-minded visiting side with the much-better in-form starter.
The play is CINCINNATI.
Good luck, NP
