This is a 1* FREE PLAY on the OVER Sabres/Penguins.
Buffalo comes into this game on a 14-game losing streak. Whether it's a losing streak, or a winning streak, when it gets to this point, to this many games in a row, I think these streaks become unrealistic and can't continue forever obviously.
Buffalo's going to win a game here soon. And what better time than now than against the Penguins, who they lost 3-0 to on March 13th in these team's most recent matchup against each other.
Previous to the Sabres most recent 5-3 loss at New York, Buffalo had seen the total go UNDER in four straight.
I actually had a CLIENT PICK on the OVER in that game against the Rangers, and the final score was 5-3 for New York, easily flying over the total of 5.5.
I had this to say in my analysis in that game:
If we went only by a team's offensive and defensive numbers when making our decisions, and not taking into account trends, injuries, scheduling and other motivating factors on a game to game basis as well, then in my opinion, that's a sure way to lose your money pretty quickly.
Gambling on sports is not just about adding up offensive and defensive averages and then making your prediction. Although it's a good place to start of course.
My point was, that clearly Buffalo was desperate to break out of its slide and I expected it to finally breakthrough with a few goals against the Rangers.
The problem for the Sabres though is that they've also been terrible defensively, allowing 3.47 goals per game, which ranks 29th in the league.
Buffalo is desperate to break the 14 game slide, it also plays with revenge here.
Pittsburgh's seen the total go UNDER in six straight.
The Penguins average 3.03 goals per game though and after losing 2-1 here a couple of nights ago to the lowly Devils in overtime, Pittsburgh also comes into this game with something to prove as it looks to shake off that shaky performance.
I expect a wide-open game with plenty of goals.
Consider the OVER in this one.
Good luck, NP
