THE INSIDERS ROOM'S 10* THURSDAY NIGHT TOP TOTAL (OFF 2-1 WEDNESDAY!)
(NFL) LA Chargers vs. Las Vegas,
Total: 54.00 | -117.00 Under
Result: Loss
Total: 54.00 | -117.00 Under
Result: Loss
This is a 10* TOP TOTAL on the UNDER Chargers/Raiders.
What's the Chargers motivation here? LA covered for the first time in seven games in its upset win over the Falcons last weekend. The Chargers have the ability to disrupt the playoff picture, which is a minor motivational factor that has to be considered, but on the short week and off the satisfying victory, I think this one has "letdown" written all over it for the visiting side.
When the Chargers are healthy they only average 22.8 PPG this season, and note that they have a long list of injured players today, including: Guard Trai Turner, long snapper Cole Mazza, linebacker Uchenna Nwosu, tight end Hunter Henry, cornerback Chris Harris, Jr., running back Austin Ekeler, wide receiver Keenan Allen (hamstring), safety Nasir Adderley (undisclosed), linebacker Denzel Perryman, wide receiver Joe Reed, running back Troymaine Pope, running back Joshua Kelley, tackle Bryan Bulaga, and wide receiver Mike Williams.
The Raiders are in ninth in the AFC and they haven't been in the playoffs since 2016. Head coach Jon Gruden just got rid of defensive coordinator Paul Guenther and replaced hiim with DL coach Rod Marinelli, so we can expect a motiavated effort from that side of the ball as well today.
I think special teams and field position will determine the winner of this contest and to me that means just one thing, "u-n-d-e-r."
The play is the under.
Good luck, NP
