THE INSIDERS ROOM'S 10* THURSDAY NIGHT 'BLOWOUT!' (4-1 ALL NFL IN WEEK 6!)
(NFL) NY Giants vs. Philadelphia,
Point Spread: -4.00 | -105.00 Philadelphia (Home)
Result: Loss
Point Spread: -4.00 | -105.00 Philadelphia (Home)
Result: Loss
This is a 10* BLOWOUT on the Philadelphia Eagles.
These are two terrible teams, but divisional contests always mean the most and they almost always mean the most to the home side.
New York has dropped all three of its road games and I expect that trend to continue here vs. this hungry Eagles team, which won't ever throw in the white towel on the season.
The Cowboys lead the division at 2-4, so the Eagles are still very much in contention. In fact, both teams are.
That said, after holding on for a 20-19 win at home, their first of the year last Sunday, I absolutely believe this sets up as a classic "letdown" spot for the Giants.
Note that New York won despite being outgained 337 to 240 and only posting 16 first downs. QB Daniel Jones had 112 yards passing, one TD and one INT. Jones only has three TD's and six INT's so far. Overall the Giants are 31st in the league in rushing with only 76.5 per contest average.
Philadelphia has made it into the playoffs each of the last three years and in each of those seasons it's had to deal with plenty of adversity and coming from behind.
This is familiar territory for Wentz, but the short week is also working in his favor, as I always believe that the home side gets the advantage in Thursday night contests.
The Eagles almost pulled off the epic upset vs. the Ravens, and actually outgained Baltimore with 364 yards, compared to just 355.
Philadelphia is on the cusp of a big break out performance, and this is it. Lay the points, expect a blowout from start to finish!
Good luck, NP
