Toronto ended up dropping the final three games of their five-game home set with the Rays as their pitching fell apart over the weekend. With that said, the Blue Jays get to go on the road to face an A's team that is the worst team in the majors. Oakland is dead last in the majors when it comes to putting runs on the board at home (2.39 per game) and 29th in that category overall this season. That's bad news when you're facing Alek Manoah, who has been lights out this season, posting a 9-2 mark with a 2.09 ERA, a 0.96 WHIP, 19 walks and 85 strikeouts over 94.2 innings of work. He's been rock solid on the road, going 4-1 with a 1.94 ERA, 1.13 WHIP, 11 walks and 38 strikeouts over 41.2 innings as the visiting pitcher on the year. Oakland hits just .208 against right-handed pitching while the Blue Jays have tagged lefties to the tune of a .263 clip this season. Manoah shuts the A's down while Irvin's soft-tossing stuff gets hammered around the RingCentral Coliseum to give the win to the visitors.
