Last night, the Padres were all able to go home into their own beds and homes while the Marlins were off to a hotel. San Diego is playing high-level baseball and getting timely hitting and decent pitching. The Padres are not doing anything at a dominant level but they have had two 4-game win streaks and one 3-game streak so far this season. They are middle of the pack in both batting average and ERA this season and yet, are top five in runs scored and top five in hits allowed per game.

For the Marlins, they just blew their game in the 9th inning on Wednesday and now have lost 4 straight.
