Texas Tech limps into its first bowl game in three seasons with an interim coach and an entire staff that will unlikely be returning next season. The team lost its final two games of the season, to Oklahoma State and Baylor, and finished the season at 6-6 under interim coach Sonnie Cumbie. I dont see much motivation with the TT program.

This is a rather juicy matchup between the Mike Leach-led Mississippi State Bulldogs and one of his former teams, the Texas Tech Red Raiders. Both teams have potent offenses. Both teams have run up against quality opponents this year although, Mississippi State has had many more quality games against high-level opponents. While the Texas Tech defense has had a number of interceptions this season and has some quality players on that side of the ball, games against other pass-first opponents like Texas and Oklahoma did not go well for the Red Raiders.

In those two games, the defense allowed 70 and 51 points. Leach's pass-happy offense should feast on this opportunity. Leach will deff run up the score against his old team as they left on bad terms. Look
