The Panthers lost a back and forth game on Sunday to the Lightning after being up 2-1 and 4-3. The Lightning got Steven Stamkos and Nikita Kucherov back from injury, Kucherov had two goals and an assist while Stamkos had two assists. However, the TB Lightning scored three goals on the power play and one goal shorthanded.

Florida has been excellent when skating on own ice this season, ending the regular campaign with the 7th best domestic showing in the league (20-5-3), currently having dropped just three of its previous 16 decisions at BB&T Center. The Cats have also beaten Tampa Bay on three of the past four overall occasions and have posted three wins in their last five head-to-head matchups in Sunrise.
