Jacob Nix the Padres rookie right-hander starter tonight became the seventh Padre to work at least six scoreless frames in his debut when he blanked Philadelphia for six innings on Friday. Between Double-A, Triple-A and the Majors this season, Nix has a 1.67 ERA and has been lights out with 48 strikeouts and just 11 walks in 64.2 innings.


Clay Buchholz has struggled with SD as the Padres have a .314 average against Buchholz and the D'backs are just 3-4 in his road starts.

The Padres are hitting .284 this month and I'll back them at home tonight.
