Padres over Phillies- These two clubs have left much to be desired at this point of the season and offensive woes are the main reason both teams are struggling under .500. The Padres have been shutout a major league-high 10 times and have dropped five of their last seven while the Phillies have lost eight of their last nine. San Diego is entering an eight-game road trip and will be sending Ian Kennedy (5-6, 3.39 ERA) to the mound and he's now won three straight. Kennedy is 2-1 career wise against Philadelphia limiting them to a .214 batting average. A.J. Barnett (3-5, 4.41) has dropped four of his last five decisions and is 2-6 lifetime against San Diego.
