Padres over Mets- New York lost a pair of key components yesterday as Pete Alonso and Sterling Marte had to leave their 6-0 loss with injuries. They have both been a large part of MLB's No. 2 offense averaging 5.18 runs per game. Sean Manaea (2-3, 377 ERA) started the season with seven no-hot innings in his first start for the Padres and had been inconsistent until his last start surrendering only one run in six innings against the Brewers. As good as the Mets have been in recent seasons they are still just 34-71 as road underdogs. Take SAN DIEGO!
