Mets over Phillies- The Mets broke their six-game losing streak with a resounding 11-5 win over the Phillies last night and will start Steve Matz (8-8, 4.06 ERA) who appears to have turned his season around. Matz is 1-1 in his last three starts (with little support) as he allowed just nine hits in 18 innings. Philadelphia will start Jason Vargas (6-6,4.09) the former Mets who is also pitching his best ball of the season is 0-2 with an ERA of 8.31 in three career appearances against the Mets.
