New York Mets at Miami 7:05 ET
Marlins over Mets- One team that has been maligned more than any other at the All-Star break it is the New York Mets who at 40-50 are a major disappointment to their fans and the rest of the league and especially to the media. With a strong starting pitching staff they were expected to contend in the NL East but are so poorly managed and with a number of ill-advised off season moves like signing a 35 year old PED user Robinson Cano and with terrible relief pitching as they lead the majors in blown saves. Jason Vargas (3-4, 3.77 ERA) gets the start at Miami and has not allowed more tan three runs in 12n straight starts, but you are only pitching five or six inning an outing it can be deceiving. Miami will start Caleb Smith (4-4, 3.50) who has allowed just 52 hits in 72 innings and is 1-0 with a 3.24 ERA against the Mets in four starts. New York has the worst road record in the NL at 17-31 and fall short against tonight. Take MIAMI!
