After the season they had last year (3-9) this is a big surprise for Big Ten 'experts' who again picked the Spartans to finish near the bottom. After an 0-2 start in conference play Northwestern has posted a pair of wins winning at Maryland and at home over Iowa. State has struggled on offense and were more then lucky to pull off their win at Indiana last week.
