Cubs over Brewers- Like two ships passing in the night the Cubs and Brewers have been moving in opposite directions since the All-Star break. Chicago has won 12 of 15 since the break while Milwaukee has lost 10 of its last 13 including a 2-1 defeat to the Cubs in 11 innings Saturday. The 'Baby-Bears' have picked up seven games in the standings in that time and now hold 1.5 game lead in the NL Central. Veteran John Lackey (7-9, 4.97 ERA) will get the nod for Chicago and he has picked up the pace of late going 2-0 with a 3.38 ERA in July and is 5-3 with a 3.49 ERA in 12 career starts against Milwaukee. The Brewers will start their winningest hurler in Zach Davies (12-4, 4.45) who has benefited with 6.05 runs per start support. With an ERA of 4½ per game the wins won't continue for long.
