We've got an ACC clash on tap for Thursday night, as the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets host the Wolfpack of NC State. Rather than the spread, I'm focused on the total, which I think is a bit too high at 52.5.

Neither of these offenses can be described as electric. Georgia Tech quarterback Haynes King is a dual threat, but he may not be 100% healthy due to a shoulder injury he suffered a few weeks ago. Meanwhile, NC State's 59-point outburst against Stanford looks like an outlier. They followed that up with a dismal showing against Duke where quarterback CJ Bailey completed just 16 of 39 passes for 184 yards. Both defenses, meanwhile, have been solid, if not spectacular.

This hits me as a 24-17 or 24-20 type of game where both teams struggle to move the ball consistently. With that in mind, I'm taking "under 52.5" and rooting for defense to rule the day Thursday at Bobby Dodd Stadium.
