'Whaddya know, the Mets are suddenly the hottest team in the National League! After all of the angst within the fan base the first two months of the season, and controversy in the clubhouse, suddenly the Mets have won six straight and ten of twelve to pull within a game of the last NL wild card slot. But last night's 14-2 blowout win at Arlington might also serve as a wake-up call to the Rangers, who could use a boost after losing four in a row. The last time they were hammered in such a manner, losing 15-2 at the Dodgers last week, Texas recovered to win the last two games of that midweek set, so tonight is a night to expect to see some of that resolve to reappear before we begin to think it might not be happening for the Rangers this season.
