Nationals at Mets
(MLB) Nationals (WAS) vs. Mets (NYM),
Point Spread: -1.50 | 126.00 Mets (NYM) (Home)
Result: Win
Maybe it's not too late to jump on the Mets' bandwagon after they won for the 14th time in 18 outings last night vs. the bewildered Nats on Citi Field,
The last time New York made a run like this down the stretch, it was 1969, and we all know what happened that October. The Mets have now pulled two games ahead of the sinking Braves for the final NL wild card spot. New York is positively percolating, with the offense erupting for ten runs last night, and no NL pitcher (or AL pitcher, for that matter) has done any better in recent weeks than Jose Quintana, in whose last four starts has allowed only one earned run across 25 innings (that's an 0.36 ERA!). The Nats' offense ahs also stalled again at Citi Field, generating just one run in each of the first two games, predictably won by the Mets. DJ Herz has been the best Washington pitcher the past month, but note his subpar 4.66 ERA in two starts vs. the Mets earlier in the season. Play Mets on Run Line
