We haven't seen much of Cole Irvin lately, but when last spotted at the end of July he had been demoted to the Birds' bullpen, and had finished the month with a very-subpar 9.00 ERA. So it would seem a bit curious to put him back into the rotation in his return game which is also the rubber match of this midweek set and rematch of the 1969 World Series. Baltimore capitalized upon the struggling Jose Quintana last night, but Sean Manaea has been a better bargain on the mound lately for the the Mets, who have won in eight of his last ten starts.
