Any surviving members of the expansion '62 Mets who have long cherished their modern-day MLB worst mark from 62 years ago are feeling a bit uncomfy as the Chisox keep losing. Another numbing slump (this one ten games) has put the Pale Hose on course for 120 losses...the same as the '62 Mets. And with the offense scoring fewer than 2 runs pg across the last eleven, prospects for immediate improvement are hard to find, especially with young starter Jonathan Cannon posting a 6.00 ERA in his last two starts. We are going to assume Max Scherzer (who had a 2.96 ERA in six starts for the Rangers into last Friday) will improve much from that aborted effort vs. the Orioles when he couldn't get past the second inning.
