Result: Win
Opening week of college football picks continue Friday with the first rivalry game of the season as Colorado takes on Colorado State. The Buffaloes are laying -8.5 with a total of 59.

True, CSU returns two of top three RBs and four starters from OL. Also QB Nick Stevens threw for 2,679 yards last year and 21 TDs. But the Buffs are even better and have more back. Colorado is very experienced 11 seniors, 10 juniors as starters led by QB Sefo Liufau. They are going to be as close as a team can get to midseason form with 17 starters back, highest in conference.

Remember, last year they were the 5th most improved offensive unit as they continue to build chemistry. Also with 4-of-5 starting offensive lineman back, they will dominate a CSU graduated almost all DL and secondary. That is bad news for the Rams pass rush and coverage.

While I certainly believe the term "matchups" is thrown around too often. I always say that the better team of course is going to match up well to the inferior one. But CSU will get rammed and buffaloed over when they are on defense. Even if it is close late, CU will outscore State by double-digits in the fourth quarter with the big edge at the point of attack and the underdogs no secondary to compensate.
