Atlanta will be the site Saturday where the Georgia State Panthers will host the Marshall Thundering Herd. The Panthers are coming off of their bye week, so they'll now look to rebound after getting embarrassed by Troy, 28-7, their last time out. As for Marshall, it lost a heartbreaker to NC State last week, 48-41. The box score was pretty even, so the final score could have gone either way. There's a lot to like about the Herd's metrics on the defensive side of the ball, but we actually like Georgia State. Marshall is off to a 4-1 start to the 2023 season but this was actually expected as they were favored in four of those first five games but they won three of those four games by just 6 points or less including an ugly 4 point win over FCS foe Albany in week one. Georgia State is off their first loss of the year last time they played losing to a very good Troy team 28-7 but keep in mind they actually led in that game at the half but they were done in by a -2 turnover margin. We expect the Panthers to be looking for revenge in this one as they lost their season finale last year to Marshall in a game they led going into the 4th quarter.
