Result: Win
At 12:45pm ET, my Champions League GOM is on Bayer Leverkusen. Tuesday provided a taste of how strong the quality of German soccer currently is. Bayern Munich scored 9 goals, the first time in the Champions League era that a team scored that many in a single match. Now we get to see last season's German champs. No longer known by the nickname "Never-Kusen," it was Bayer Leverkusen which finished on top of last season's Bundesliga table. Not just by a little either. Bayer Leverkusen had 90 points with 2nd place Stuttgart at 73 and Bayern Munich at 3rd. What I'm saying is that Leverkusen is really good. Too good for Feyenoord, the #2 team in the Dutch league last season. So far this season, Feyenoord isn't playing as well as last year and is sitting in 7th in the Dutch standings. Feyenoord will be inspired by their home fans but it won't be enough to stand in the way of Leverkusen's destiny.
