At 6:45 ET, my Cakewalk selection is on the Washington Nationals. DJ Herz had a tough assignment last start as he was on the road against the Baltimore Orioles. He took the loss but it wasn't his fault as he conceded only 4 hits and 2 runs through 6 innings. The 23-year old Herz has gotten better and better. In August, he has a 2.63 ERA. Prior to the All Star Break, he had a 5.17 ERA but he's got a 3.04 ERA after the break. The opposite has been true of Austin Gomber. Prior to the All-Star Break, Gomber had a 4.61 ERA. Since then, he has a 5.68 ERA. The Rockies are only 17-46 on the road. Off a Sunday win over the Phillies, the Nationals win again Tuesday. Play on Washington.
