The set-up: This series features a couple of interesting match-ups on the mound and in my opinion, this is one of them. For a number of different reasons though I think this one favors Kyle Freeland and the hard-hitting Rockies. The home side sends Noe Ramirez to the hill.

The pitchers: Freeland is so far 11-7 with a 2.96 ERA. He most recently gave up two runs off seven hits over seven innings while also going on to strike out seven in a victory over the Padres on Thursday. To go along with his highly respectable ERA, Freeland also owns a shape 136:57 K/BB over 158.1 innings this season.

Ramirez is 4-4 with a 4.69 ERA. He's been recalled from the minors to make this start and while the sky could in fact be the limit for Ramirez, there's no question that he draws a difficult match-up in the Rockies' dangerous hitting line-up.

The pick: Freeland's the correct call here. Ramirez gets chased early and I look for visiting side to take full advantage. Lay the price.
