Point Spread: -2.50 | -110.00 NY Giants (Away)
Result: Win
The set-up: The Giants ended a three-game slide with last Sunday's 27-23 home win over the Ravens, as Eli threw for 403 yards and three TD passes, two going to Odell Beckham Jr, who had a career-high 222 receiving yards. The victory allowed the Giants to reach 3-3 in the surprisingly tough NFC East, where Dallas is 5-1, Washington 4-2 and Philadelphia 3-2. The Rams returned to LA after a 21-year ‘pit stop' in St. Louis (which included a Super Bowl title in 1999), opening with a 28-0 loss at San Francisco in Week 1. However, the Rams then won three in a row, including 9-3 over Seattle and 17-13 at Arizona, before losing their last two. The two 3-3 teams square off in the NFL's second "London game" of the 2016 season, at 9:30 ET.
NY Giants: New York was facing real tough questions regarding its offense before breaking out in that 27-23 comeback win over Baltimore last week. Eli opened the 2016 season with a three-TD effort at Dallas but over his next four games, produced just two TD passes. His breakout game against the Ravens was YUGE, as was Beckham's, as he had just one TD catch among his 27 receptions going into last Sunday's contest. The Giants still need to find a running game, as they rank 30th overall, averaging 76.0 PPG on 3.6 YPG. The Giants paid a lot of money to help a defense which allowed a league-high 420.3 YPG in 2015, as well as 27.6 PPG. So far, they've allowed 21.8 PPG (down about six points) on 363.7 YPG (down about 60 yards).
LA Rams: Case Keenum had arguably his best game as a pro last week, completing 27 of 32 passes (completed 19 in a row at one point) for 321 yards and three TDs. However, that effort was wasted by a defense that gave up 10 straight fourth-quarter points after the offense had spotted them a seven-point lead. RB Todd Gurley ran for 1,106 yards (4.8 YPC) and 10 TDs in 13 games as a rookie in 2015 but he's topped 75 yards just once in six games here in 2016. He's got only 346 rushing yards while averaging 2.9 YPC, for a running game which rivals the Giants' for ineptitude (80.8 YPG on 3.1 YPC).
The pick: The Giants own a clear advantage with Eli Manning over Case Keenum, who despite last Sunday's effort, averages only 220.5 YPG through the air with 7 TDs and 6 INTs on the season (85.3 QB rating). With neither team owning a running attack worthy of note, the winner should be determined by the winner of the QB ‘battle." Aiding Eli is OBJ, who despite his antics, is a terrific receiver, the like of which LA can only dream about. The Rams' one-proud defense has allowed 61 points in back-to-back losses and containing Eli & OBJ may be too much to ask. Also note that the Giants' six opponents so far are a combined 22-11 SU & 22-9-1 ATS compared to 17-17 SU & 14-19-1 ATS for the Ram's six foes. One least thing, the Rams are in a brutal scheduling spot. This marks the team's fourth game away from home in its last five, as the Rams immediately departed for London from Detroit after last Sunday's game. This Pacific time zone team will take the field at what would be 6:30 a.m. local time start for them. The NY Giants are an 8* play.
