ROGERS FAN APPRECIATION NHL WINNER!
(NHL) Calgary vs. Anaheim,
Money Line: -245.00 Anaheim (Home)
Result: Win
The Calgary Flames are coming off a 5-2 win over the Coyotes in Arizona on Monday, but they are going to be hard pressed to avoid a 23rd consecutive defeat at the Duck Pond tonight. Yes, you read that right... they've lost 22 straight in Anaheim since the 2004-2005 season. They've lost all four meetings this year, and they were out-scored 17-8 in those games. My money is on the home favorite, as even though the price is high, I don't think it's high enough.

Here are my keys to the game:

1. Situational/Motivational - This is a situational disaster for the Flames. First we have the let down spot, coming off a road win in Arizona. Then we have the "look ahead" spot, as they play the Oilers in the Battle of Alberta on Saturday. Then you have the "must win" for the Ducks, who are just one point back of the Kings in the Pacific Division.

2. Special Teams - Calgary really struggles defensively, ranking dead last in the NHL in opponent's scoring average (3.1 goals per game). Part of their problem is their woeful special teams, with the NHL's worst penalty kill rate. Their power play isn't much better, ranking 25th converting on just 16.5 percent of their chances. It won't help matters that Anaheim ranks 1st in the league in both categories.

3. X-Factor - The home team is 46-13 in the last 59 meetings, and Calgary is 15-36 in the last 51 meetings.

Selection: This is a play on the Anaheim Ducks (5*)
