*8* SURE SHOT on North Carolina.
The North Carolina Tar Heels will face the banged up Baylor Bears in the Russell Athletic Bowl on Tuesday, and public money has been all over the Tar Heels. Baylor opened as a favorite, but since then it announced that three key players on offense will be out with injuries. I think this game is going to cost bookmakers a ton of money, as the Tar Heels are likely to steamroll the Bears.
Here are my keys to the game:
1. Quarterbacks - The Bears lost their starter Seth Russell in Week on October 24th, and backup Jarrett Stidham filled in admirably, throwing for 1,265 yards with 12 TDs and just two INTs, winning two of his three starts. He missed the final two weeks of the season with an ankle injury, and Baylor lost both those games. That leaves Baylor with a third string quarterback that started the season playing wide receiver.
2. Injuries - The quarterback position isn't the only place where the Bears are hurting, they will also be without #1 RB Shock Linwood, and #1 receiver Corey Coleman.
3. X-Factor - The Tar Heels are 6-1 ATS versus a team with a winning record.
Selection: This is a play on the North Carolina Tar Heels (8*)
