*10* GAME OF THE MONTH on USC.

The USC Trojans have battled back since firing Steve Sarkasian, winning five of their final six games of the regular season. They face Stanford in the PAC12 Championship Game, and Stanford is asked to cover a handful of points. I think Stanford fans have to be concerned about the way their team's defense played against Notre Dame, allowing the Irish to march down the field and score a go ahead touchdown inside the final minute. I'll take the visitors plus the points.

Here are my keys to the game:

1. Cody Kessler - When the Trojans lost to Stanford at home earlier this year, Kessler threw for 272 yards and three touchdowns on 25-of-32 passing. He's had another fine season for the Trojans, throwing for 3,128 yards and 27 TDs with just six INTs.

2. Previous History - The road team has covered the spread in eight of the last 11 meetings in this series. Prior to Stanford's 41-31 win at USC earlier this season, the previous two games between these teams were each decided by just three points.

3. X-Factor - The Cardinals allowed Notre Dame to run for 299 yards in last week's 38-36 win.
