Chicago Cubs righty Zach Davies has an ugly 8.22 ERA to go with a 1-2 record in six starts on the season. His last outing was a decent one though as he allowed only one earned run through four innings of a 3-2 Cubs win against Cincinnati. Davies was lit up for seven runs in 1 2/3 innings against the Pirates last month, but the Bucs have scored a total of only 12 runs over their last six games.

Trevor Cahill (1-3, 7.40 ERA) will take the ball for the Pirates. His ERA is almost as ugly as Davies', and he's been particularly poor on the road with 15 runs allowed (14 earned) on 19 hits over 14 innings of work.

The Cubs have scored 17 runs while won three in a row, and they've won five of their last seven.
