Cubs' lefty Jon Lester (2-1, 5.06 ERA) is coming off a couple of rough outings, but here he'll get a chance to bounce back against a Detroit team that is averaging only 4.80 runs per game. It's also worth noting that Lester is 2-0 with a 0.82 ERA in two road starts on the season.

Detroit righty Michael Fulmer (0-0, 9.53 ERA) is on a three-inning limit as he is making his way back from Tommy John surgery. Nonetheless, Fulmer has still managed to give up three runs or more in three of his four starts as he has allowed 12 runs on 18 hits (six homers) in 11 1/3 innings on the season.

This looks like a good opportunity for the Cubs' bats to wake up following a quiet stretch.
