Tampa Bay right-hander Chris Archer (3-4, 4.24 ERA) will make his first start since he went on the disabled list June 2 with an abdominal strain. He had allowed just three earned runs in 23 2/3 innings in his final four starts before going on the DL and held the Tigers to two runs and six hits in six innings on May 1.

Francisco Liriano (3-5, 4.03 ERA) will take the ball for Detroit. He made four starts against the Rays last season and posted a 6.61 ERA with 16 walks through 16 1/3 total innings. Liriano is winless in his last eight starts and the Tigers are 0-6 in his last 6 road starts.

Tigers are 4-15 in their last 19 overall. Rays are 11-1 in their last 12 home games.
