I like the Detroit Tigers to complete the sweep of this three-game set with the Boston Red Sox Wednesday afternoon.

Rookie phenom Michael Fulmer (9-2, 2.41 ERA) takes the ball for Detroit. He's 7-2 with a 2.80 ERA in 11 road starts and went a season-high eight innings against Kansas City in his previous turn. This start will mark Fulmer's first career meeting with Boston.

The Red Sox turn to Eduardo Rodriguez (2-4, 6.70). The left-hander was 0-3 with a 10.03 ERA in five starts in June, but 1-1 with a 2.19 ERA in two starts this month. The ball flew around in the heat at Fenway yesterday when the Tigers edged a 9-8 victory, and these conditions will not favor Rodriguez. He's struggled with the long ball all season and has yielded a total of 11 through 41 2/3 innings of work.

Red Sox are 0-5 in their last five games vs. a starter with a WHIP less than 1.15, Tigers are 13-3 in their last 16 games vs. a starter with a WHIP greater than 1.30. Tigers are 7-1 in Fulmer's last eight starts vs. a team with a winning record, Red Sox are 0-4 in Rodriguez's last four home starts.
