Result: Win
Play: Los Angeles Angels
Rating: 8*

The Los Angeles Angels are off to a quick start following the All Star break with four consecutive wins. They took down the Texas Rangers 9-5 last night, the Rangers' seventh defeat in nine games.

Kyle Lohse (0-1, 10.80 ERA) takes the ball for Texas Tuesday night. He made his season debut last Tuesday and allowed six runs over five innings while pitching through a right oblique strain. Lohse is 4-5 with a 6.28 ERA in 12 career starts versus the Angels and has struggled to retire Albert Pujols (5-for-12) and Mike Trout (3-for-3).

The Halos turn to Tim Lincecum (1-3, 6.85 ERA). He's off to a rocky start with the Angels but I expect a big performance from the two time Cy Young Awards winner tonight as he's more or less pitching for his spot in the rotation at this point. We can note that the Rangers are 2-9 in their last 11 games vs. a right-handed starter and 5-12 in their last 17 games with Mark Wegner behind home plate, so that will hopefully give Lincecum a boost.

The Halos have scored seven runs or more in three of their four games since the All Star break. Look for their improved offense to earn them the win tonight against a struggling Rangers team.
