(MLB) Houston vs. LA Angels,
Money Line: -140.00 Houston (Away)
Result: Win
Money Line: -140.00 Houston (Away)
Result: Win
Play: Houston Astros
Rating: 8*
The Houston Astros are on fire with nine wins in their last 10 games following a 7-1 thrashing of the reeling Los Angeles Angels last night. Houston has won seven straight head-to-head meetings, and I like the club to continue its dominance behind its ace Wednesday afternoon.
Dallas Keuchel (4-9, 5.35 ERA) may not have looked like much of an ace this season, but he held the Halos to a pair of runs on three hits in seven innings of a 4-2 win in LA on May 28. He has the current Halos batters held to a .219 batting average over 178 at bats and 5-1 with a 3.51 ERA in eight starts here at Angel Stadium. Keuchel has the luxury of being backed up by a bullpen with the fifth best ERA in baseball.
The Halos turn to Jered Weaver (6-6, 5.24 ERA) who allowed each of the four runs on six hits and three walks in six innings when tossing opposite Keuchel last month. Weaver surrendered four runs on eight hits in just 4 2/3 innings of work his last time out. Los Angeles' bullpen is a mess right now and it has 10 blown saves on the year compared to just 15 successful saves.
Angels are 0-5 in their last five home games vs. a left-handed starter and 3-7 in their last 10 during Game 3 of a series. Astros are 7-2 in their last nine during Game 3 of a series and 16-5 in their last 21 games vs. a right-handed starter.
