Money Line: -111.00 Detroit (Away)
Result: Loss
Play: Detroit Tigers
Rating: 8*
The Detroit Tigers put on a home run clinic in last night's 10-4 win against the Kansas City Royals. Five of their 13 hits left the park and Victor Martinez was on fire with three homers. I like the Tigers to take a 2-0 lead in the four-game series with another win Friday night.
Michael Fulmer (7-1, 2.52 ERA) will take the ball for the Tigers. Detroit has won each of his last seven starts and the 23 year old rookie has been absolutely phenomenal during that stretch. He's held each of his last four opponents scoreless while logging a total of 27 1/3 innings of work while allowing only a total of nine hits.
The Royals turn to Yordano Ventura (5-4, 4.93 ERA) who was sharp his last start when he fanned 10 White Sox batters while holding them to one run in seven innings of a 7-1 win. He surrendered seven runs on nine hits in seven innings his last start home at Kauffman though and he has served up seven home runs in his last seven starts.
The Royals have been extremely streaky lately and they're 1-7 in their last eight games following a loss. Tigers are 19-7 in their last 26 after scoring five runs or more in their previous game.
