This is an 8* play on the OVER between Texas and Oklahoma.
So far these two teams have played to some pretty low-scoring affairs, but I feel that the conditions are finally right for a higher-scoring shootout and expect this total to eclipse the number as the game comes down the stretch. The Sooners are looking to bounce back off a tough loss and face Big 12 rival Texas this afternoon in the annual Red River Rivalry game which takes place at the neutral-site Cotton Bowl. As mentioned off the top, Oklahoma would fall from No. 4 to No. 11 in the AP Poll after suffering a 37-33 loss at TCU as a 3.5 point favorite last week. Sooners' QB Trevor Knight would register his first loss as a starter after winning his first nine straight dating back to last season. Knight though looked decent in throwing for 309 yards vs. TCU. Texas is also fighting, it's 2-3 SU and it's not been easy for first year coach Charlie Strong. The Longhorns have been opportunistic on defense, last week they fell 28-7 at home to Baylor as 14-point underdogs. Note, despite the low-scoring games Texas has played to, QB Tyrone Swoopes is poised for a big day vs. this Sooners' secondary which was clearly exposed last week by TCU, so far he's posted a decent 113.7 rating. Swoopes will once again be leaning heavily on RB's Malcom Brown and Johnathan Gray to attack and keep the Sooners front line honest. Oklahoma is going to put some points on the board, but as I already mentioned, the door is open for Swoopes to finally do the same; note that Texas has seen the total go OVER the number in four of its last six following a loss vs. a conference rival, while Oklahoma has seen the total sail above the posted number in its last three off a loss vs. a conference rival. In my opinion, this number is just a little low; play on the OVER.
