AAA's VERY EARLY SITUATIONAL DESTRUCTION!
(NCAAF) Southern Methodist vs. East Carolina,
Point Spread: 42.00 | -110.00 Southern Methodist (Away)
Result: Win
This is an 8* SITUATIONAL DESTRUCTION on SMU.

These two teams have captivated the College Football World, but for entirely different reasons. Ultimately, I think ECU comes in a bit disinterested and look for struggling SMU to sneak in through the back door with the large spread that it's been afforded in this one. I also think the No. 22 Pirates will come out a bit flat-footed here after returning from their bye week. ECU is an awesome team, it's hard to point out any faults on paper, but for me this is simply a bad spot for it in my opinion, and a great one for us to take advantage of; note that this is East Carolina's first game as a ranked team since 2008. SMU is clearly a poor team, it's been outscored 202-12 while ranking last in the nation in both scoring offense and scoring defense: "We can't keep going like this," SMU interim coach Tom Mason said earlier in the week. "That's my job. We just have to believe in ourselves." SMU hasn't named its starting QB as of writing, but Garrett Krstich will likely get the nod: "We're going to keep working," Krstich said. "We still have eight games, and I have full confidence we can make it to a bowl game." This is strictly a "situational" play for me, meaning that individual player match-ups are meaningless in this process; note that SMU is 10-5 ATS in its last 15 vs. conference opponents, while ECU is just 4-5 ATS in its last nine after two or more consecutive SU wins. I believe the situation, the numbers and the trends all point to SMU as the sharp wager in this one.
