This is an 8* SITUATIONAL DESTRUCTION on North Carolina.
These teams have a lot in common coming into this contest, as each comes in off a tough loss. This is also a key ACC matchup. For a number of different reasons, I think the Tar Heels come in under the radar and will keep this one a lot closer than what the oddsmakers are leading us to believe. I believe this game means more to UNC, it's coming off its first loss of the season (note that it has yet to cover the spread though this year), losing badly in a 70-41 setback to East Carolina last Saturday. Conversely, Clemson has covered the spread in its last two, but is coming off a 27-17 loss to FSU in OT last week; suffice it to say, I think the team has a major letdown here. UNC had and still has big expectations this year and it has a prime chance to prove itself here in its concerence opener, the slate is wiped clean for league play; note that the Tar Heels are a near-perfect 5-1 ATS in their last six conference contests. UNC knows what is at stake here, I think it keeps it close enough to cover the spread. I simply feel Clemson will have a hang over after it let last week's golden opportunity slip through its fingers. I'll admit that the Tigers are the more athletic and talented team, but UNC is getting little respect in my opinion, the situation sets up perfectly for it and while I won't go on record in calling the outright win, I do definitely think this is way too many points to be giving up to this hungry visiting side; play on NORTH CAROLINA.
