AAA's 10* SITUATIONAL TOTAL "ASSASSIN!"
(MLB) Seattle vs. Toronto,
Total: 8.50 | -105.00 Over
Result: Win
Total: 8.50 | -105.00 Over
Result: Win
This is a 10* TOTAL ASSASSIN on the UNDER between the Seattle Mariners and the Toronto Blue Jays.
These teams have been playing to some pretty high-scoring slug-fests of late, however I believe the conditions are finally right for a lower-scoring pitchers duel in this one. Seattle looks to avoid a fifth straight loss and sends Taijuan Walker (2-2, 3.00) to the hill to stop the slide; Walker has been a bright spot in the rotation on this horrible road-trip as he allowed two runs while striking out seven over 5 2/3's innings in a 10-5 win over the Astros on Friday. While the Jays have been swinging a hot bat to open this series, I think this sets up as a definite letdown spot for the home side after it was officially eliminated from contention when Kansas City beat Cleveland last night. Toronto turns to veteran Mark Buehrle (12-10, 3.53 ERA) who is 0-1 with a ballooned 6.75 ERA over his last two starts, which came after going 1-0 with a minuscule 1.20 ERA in his first two starts of September. A date vs. the struggling Mariners is just what the doctor ordered to get untracked though, Buehrle is 7-3 with a very respectable 3.89 ERA in 16 starts against Seattle. Note that Seattle has seen the total go UNDER the number in 29 of 47 vs. left-handed starters this year, while Toronto has seen the total dip below the posted number in 18 of its last 33 vs. teams with winning records. I believe that the situation, the numbers and the trends all point to the UNDER as the sharp wager in this one.
